SME instrument-Phase 1 e Phase 2: statistics after the last cut-off date in 2014

The SME instrument is part of the Horizon 2020 programme and finances innovative ideas with great market potential. The instrument is divided in three phases, with the aim of transforming disruptive ideas into concrete, innovative solutions with a European and global impact.

17 December was the last cut-off date for both phase 1 and 2 in 2014. The European Commission has received a total of 2,992 new proposals from 35 countries: 2,363 for phase 1 and 629 for phase 2.

Compared to the previous cut-off date the number of proposals received for phase 1 increased by 17,7% and for phase 2 by 8,4%.

Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom are leading in terms of number of proposals submitted.

The applicants will be informed of the results of the evaluation in February for phase 1 and April for phase 2.
