Building connections for cybersecurity ecosystems in Europe: cooperation opportunities and new perspectives

RESOLVO supported Tuscany Region in the organisation of the first Tuscan event on Cybersecurity and European cybersecurity ecosystems, following up on the experiences of the Interreg Europe project CYBER.

The event took place on the 5th of October 2023 in Migliarino Regional Park in San Rossore, as part of Internet Festival 2023 and in cooperation with the French delegation led by Bretagne Development Innovation.

The event aimed to promote moments of exchange and synergies among companies, research organisations and public stakeholders and to enhance European cooperation in the field of Cybersecurity.

In the morning, a panel held at the Gronchi Hall of the San Rossore Park, was attended by relevant regional, national and European guests.

After institutional greetings by Tuscan Regional Ministers, Stefano Ciuoffo and Leonardo Marras and by Gianluca Vannuccini, Director of the Sector for Information Systems, Technology Infrastructure and Innovation, Leonardo Borselli, as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Tuscany Region, moderated the panel.

Speeches delivered by members of the Italian National Cybersecurity Agency (Claudio Ciccotelli and Luca Nicoletti) and by Luigi Rebuffi, Head of the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) provided an overview of the situation regarding cybersecurity at the Italian and European levels.

The following part of the panel was dedicated to companies. Representing the Tuscan regional ecosystem were Nana Bianca and Polo Tecnologico Navacchio. A delegation composed of Hélèn Morin, as the Head of the European Projects of Bretagne Developpement Innovation and four representatives from two companies (DEFANTS e Alcyconie) represented the Breton ecosystem. Rocco De Nicola, Director of the Cybersecurity Research Center C3T, concluded the panel.

The afternoon session was held at the impressive Presidential Villa del Gombo, which provided the perfect setting for organising bilateral meetings between the participants (which included 12 companies), offering an opportunity to build “connections” and exchange perspectives on cybersecurity challenges.

Resolvo is increasingly investing in the topic of cybersecurity. Indeed, its involvement in the organisation of this event was an interesting and enriching opportunity. We hope this is just the first of many meetings with other European regions working on this topic!
