AURORA partners at the Finnish Meteorological Institute

The partners of the H2020 AURORA project gathered in Helsinki for their second project meeting.

Thanks to the launch of the Copernicus atmospheric Sentinel missions S4 and S5, satellite data will be available to provide more accurate information related, for instance, to safe-sun exposure and air quality.

Given that the project is carried out before the launch of these Copernicus atmospheric Sentinels, AURORA partners are in the processes of simulating, fusing and assimilating synthetic L2 Sentinel data.

AURORA is particularly interested in linking scientific results to commercial applications in the field of preventive health care. One of the aspects tackled during the meeting was how to integrate scientific, technological and application requirements in order to reach project goals.

The Finnish Meteorological Institute hosted the event.
