Increased the renewable energy target in Europe by 2030?

On 23 and 24 October 2014, the European Council will meet for a final decision on the new climate and energy strategy to 2030.

The renewable energy target that Europe will reach by 2030 could be increased by 3 percentage points compared to what was approved in January, therefore, be brought from 27% to 30%.

According to EPIA – European Photovoltaic Industry Association – to achieve this goal, specific national targets are needed, currently not envisaged by the Commission, in particular, according to EPIA, investors need stability and predictability provided only by well-defined national targets such as to ensure a diversion of public and private capital towards renewables.
