RESOLVO was represented at the IRDO conference held, in Slovenia and online on 16-17 June 2026, co-authoring a paper together with a group of practitioners from the International CDR Manifesto.
The 21st IRDO International Conference, entitled “Innovative, Sustainable & Socially Responsible Society 2026: Sustainability Management in Organisations”, focused on the growing need for organisations to respond to rapidly evolving regulatory requirements. As the European regulatory landscape continues to change, companies are facing increasing pressure to deliver audit-ready environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics. The conference was designed as a two-day masterclass on operationalising ESG to strengthen enterprise value.
Building on the results of two cooperation projects on Corporate Digital Responsibility (CDR) – CDR EUROPE and COEUS – Resolvo led on preparation of a paper entitled “Bridging theory and practice: European evidence on operationalising digital responsibility in Small and Medium Enterprises”. The paper was co-authored with eminent members of the International CDR Manifesto, including Karen Elliott (University of Birmingham), Oana Ionescu (UEFISCDI), Rob Price (Futuria) and Patricia Share (Beyond Reach).
This contribution addresses the persistent gap between CDR theory and practice in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It draws on Corporate Social Responsibility literature, the experience of International CDR Manifesto members, and practitioners’ initiatives across Europe working on CDR with SMEs. The findings are illustrated through a comparative case study, demonstrating how, in the absence of standardised CDR regulations, practical initiatives are already facilitating the adoption of CDR methods and translating them into responsible digital practices for SMEs.
