On 21st October the EU Commission approved the new transnational cooperation programme Adriatic-Ionian ADRION<\/a>. The programme has an overall budget of 118 million\u20ac.<\/p>\n

The programme will contribute to the implementation of the European Union Strategy for Adriatic-Ionian Region (EUSAIR), composed of 4 Priority Axes:
\n– Innovative and Smart Region: Strengthening research, technological development and innovation
\n– Sustainable Region: Preserving and protecting the environment and promoting resource efficiency
\n– Connected region: Promoting sustainable transport and removing bottlenecks in key network infrastructures
\n– Supporting the Governance of the EUSAIR: Enhancing institutional capacity of public authorities and stakeholders and efficient public administration.<\/p>\n

The geographical Area covered by the ADRION Programme includes: Greece, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy (13 Regions and 2 provinces), Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia.<\/p>\n
