The SME instrument is part of the Horizon 2020 programme and finances innovative ideas with great market potential. The instrument is divided in three phases, with the aim of transforming disruptive ideas into concrete, innovative solutions with a European and global impact.<\/p>\n

For the second cut-off date in September 2014\u00a0have been submitted 1944 new\u00a0proposals ,\u00a0\u00a0which makes in total more than 4,600 when adding up the applications submitted in last June.<\/p>\n

The \u201copen disruptive innovation scheme\u201d attracted again the biggest number of\u00a0proposals\u00a0(608), followed by\u00a0\u201clow carbon energy systems\u201d (268), \u201cnanotechnologies\u201d (234) e \u201ceco-innovation\/raw materials\u201d (199).<\/p>\n

The results of the evaluation should be available towards the end of November 2014.<\/p>\n

For the second time, Italy has presented the highest number of proposals (351), followed by Spain\u00a0(283), UK (149), Germany (128), France (93) and Hungary (91).<\/p>\n

The next deadline for phase 1 is on 17 December 2014.<\/p>\n
