Fast Track to Innovation: First results

16 innovative projects will receive up to EURO 3M to bring innovative ideas to market.
The European Commission has allocated EURO 36M for innovative projects, under the “Fast track to innovation scheme” (FTI), run under the European research and innovation programme, Horizon 2020.
The fast Track to Innovation scheme was launched in January 2015 and has received 269 proposals by the first cut-off date. 82% of all partners came from the industrial sector, and almost half were SMEs. Among the 16 projects approved, Germany has 13 partners, followed by the Netherlands and United Kingdom, with nine partners each.
FTI is a pilot initiative under the Horizon 2020 programme, and it presents a budget of EURO 200M during the period 2015-2016. It supports any topics under the specific objective “Leadership in Enabling and Industrial Technologies (LEITs)” and projects can be submitted in any time. Next cut-off date is on 1st December 2015.
