European Cooperation Day – collaboration across borders

Regions across Europe are celebrating Interreg and the benefits of territorial cooperation in a series of events taking place to mark the 3rd edition of European Cooperation Day on 21 September 2014.

European Cooperation Day is designed to showcase how cooperation across borders has improved the lives of thousands of citizens of the EU and neighbouring countries in areas such as transport, health and employment. The 2014 edition was launched by a kick-off event in Milan on 16 September.

Hundreds of local events

Activities organised to celebrate European Cooperation Day in 2014 include film festivals, cross-border hikes, bike-rides and cruises, photo competitions, exhibitions and quizzes. Details of all this year’s events are available via an interactive map on the European Cooperation Day website.

Debating Europe

There will also be an opportunity to participate in a debate between citizens and EU decision-makers on the challenges and benefits of Interreg cross-border cooperation on the Debating Europe platform. This debate will be launched on 22 September.
