Resolvo Ltd developed a successful project proposal with the lead partner Magenta for the OrganiCity programme to address Mobility in the City and Air Quality challenges in London.

Objective of the project

The project focuses on Participatory Traffic Monitoring with IoT sensors. The Magenta traffic-monitoring device, built upon a Raspberry Pi computer and equipped with customised software, is used to obtain reliable and continuous traffic data. The Resolvo London office is supporting Magenta in co-creation activities, building on their contacts with local stakeholders such as the London Borough of Hackney.

The experiment is carried out thanks to the active involvement of local stakeholders (New Speak House, Open Data Institute) and citizens, who volunteered to host the devices to monitor data on traffic counts, vehicle classification, speed and traffic congestion.

The role of Resolvo

As the programme encouraged a co-creation approach, active citizen engagement and the use of innovative technology-based solutions, Resolvo and Magenta’s combined expertise resulted in a winning strategy.
